This duality also permeates Viaplant’s thinking: how can nature be both the basis of life and a source of aesthetic experience? How can a fleeting fragment of a plant become a lasting memory, and how can the structure of the landscape be transformed into abstraction, carrying new layers of meaning?
Viaplant’s journey begins with art: with the inner search where the plant appears as inspiration. Through technology it becomes material, opening new possibilities. And in design it returns to us in the form of objects, preserving the presence of nature in our everyday lives. The origin of the plant holds special significance.
The memory of a place – a garden, a park, or even a famous rose garden – is embedded in the objects, making them not only beautiful or functional, but also carriers of stories. A lamp’s light does more than illuminate; it reminds us of the place where its plant came from, and of the moment when life became the shared memory of nature and humanity.
This is why Viaplant expands on Sullivan’s famous dictum:
„Form follows function”
„Form follows function follows emotions.”
In this way, objects embody not only function and form, but also emotions and stories.
The exhibition takes visitors “along the path of plants”: showing how the inner garden becomes artistic intuition, then experimentation and material research, and finally the creation of objects in which the stories of nature and humanity once again find a home.ál.
