Truly accomplished landscape architecture may follow a given framework, yet it always begins within an inner world of thought.
For a garden to be born, an inner garden must first take shape, a space where the designer’s ideas, memories, and inspirations can take root and intertwine.
This inner garden is at once intimate and open, it embodies the core principles of landscape architecture, while inviting others to enter and form their own interpretations.
Such a creative mindset can easily branch out from the rational domain of engineering and find new life within the realm of art.
Structures once bound by the order of design become liberated, transformed into gestures, textures, and visual explorations.
The works presented here are fragments and imprints of this process of transformation, traces of how design thinking unfolds into new layers of meaning.
In the hands of a landscape architect, the plant has always been a fundamental “building block”, a living material from which community spaces, gardens, parks, and landscapes emerge.
This role endures in the artistic sphere, though under different laws.
On the canvas or surface, the plant no longer functions as part of a planned composition, but as an autonomous medium.
It is no longer directed by purpose or function; instead, it is allowed to reveal itself freely in whichever form and meaning it chooses to take.
The presented works have drifted away from the landscape architectural realm and way of thinking of Lépték-Terv, following the path of material experimentation.
These early explorations later gave birth to the Viaplant brand.
Today, they seek to journey from technological innovation toward artistic creation.
