We all leave traces.<\/b> Not only on surfaces, but within one another, in matter, in the landscape, and in memory.<\/span><\/p>\n

The group exhibition presenting the mentees of the Budapest Art Mentor Program 2025\u20132026 explores different forms of trace making through memory, the body, materiality, and the landscape. The featured works investigate the intersections of collective memory, transgenerational experience, and ecological transformation, while asking what kind of legacy we leave behind for one another and for the world we inhabit.<\/p>\n

Bringing together the works of fourteen artists working across diverse media, the exhibition reflects on the idea that every encounter leaves a trace, every presence transforms, and every gesture continues to resonate through matter, memory, and the future.<\/span><\/p>\n

“A trace is first and foremost a sign. (…) Whoever seeks to paint the traces of others inevitably leaves their own behind.”<\/span><\/i>

We warmly invite you to the exhibition opening, where the experience of leaving traces begins from the very first moment.The opening event begins with a special programme: visitors will first be invited to experience the perception of touch. Through direct engagement with materiality and embodied experience, the performance offers an immersive introduction to the exhibition and its central themes. The evening will then continue in an unconventional way with another special event that extends the exhibition’s concept by inviting the audience to become part of the process of trace making. We won’t reveal more just yet\u2014some traces are meant to unfold only in the moment.<\/span><\/p>\n
